Get to Know Us
The bust-a-groove philosophy is simple. We believe that people are motivated by fun, especially when it comes to something we all love to hate...EXERCISE!
If you love dancing, you’ll love this class. It’s for every woman, every age, every shape—all you need is a positive attitude and a bottle of water. If you want to be active and have a night out with the ‘girls’ this is the class for you!
“If it ain’t fun, don’t do it!”
We mean that—and we stand by it—you can try the first class to any of our sessions for just $5.00—if you don’t love it, you don’t sign up for the rest of the session. Come out and try it, you’ve got nothing to lose.
What is Bust-a-Groove?
Bust-a-Groove is follow-the-leader type dancing - there are around 50 easy
steps - we don't use all of them for every class and the goal is to just have
fun not do the steps exactly as they are demonstrated. The idea is to express
yourself, hopefully even lose yourself in the music. We start every class with a
motivational quote and the following mantra to the word POWER:
Pace yourself
Own this time for you
Worry about nothing
Express yourself
Relax and let go!
The music is different for just about every class and steps are called out and
switched up freestyle. Sometimes we run into each other and have a good laugh so
it's very casual. Because there are no steps to learn or choreography to follow
we can all just relax, have fun and dance continually for the whole class. We
dance for 45-50 minutes so it can be a good workout, but participants pace
themselves so it's suited to anyone.
What to Wear
Some of us wear sweatpants and runners while others wear a t-shirt and jeans. Wear something you’re comfortable in. Remember, we’re dancing, so if you don’t like your feet sticking to the floor, you might want to wear shoes that have leather or synthetic soles.
What to Bring
Just a good attitude and bottle of water should do it!

“When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way.” ~Wayne Dyer
